There are many great mindfulness teachers, including Jon Kabat Zinn, Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, and Marsha Linehan to name a few. Jon Kabat Zinn’s book, “Wherever You Go There You Are“, is a great introduction to mindfulness and meditation. He explains that meditation is simply about being yourself and knowing something about who that it. It is about coming to realize you are on a path whether you like it or not, namely the path that is your life. His book has inspired many to read more on meditation and practice a daily habit of meditation or mindfulness.

Anyone can watch all of these great mindfulness teachers on You Tube videos as a newcomer to mindfulness. The key points to developing a daily practice are to pay attention, on purpose to the present moment, non-judgmentally. This kind of attention to the moment can lead to greater awareness, clarity, stillness, and acceptance. And the benefits of developing a mindfulness are well documented, including improvements in pain management, anxiety, sleep, anger management, etc, etc.

Call to meet with one of our trained mindfulness clinicians today to begin the benefits of this practice.
